This preference for boys can lead to harmful practices such as female infanticide, sex-selective abortion, and unequal access to resources and opportunities for girls. However, it is important to recognize that attitudes towards gender preference vary widely across different cultures and communities. Efforts to promote gender equality and challenge discriminatory attitudes are essential in addressing this issue. **
